Privacy Policy — Wird

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Wird does not collect any data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything you record in the app stays on your phone and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

This policy explains how the Wird Android app (package io.wird.app) handles information. Wird is a free, offline app for building daily Islamic habits around prayer times.

Information we collect

None. We operate no servers and no accounts. We cannot see your habits, your prayer records, your location, or anything else you do in the app. No personal data ever leaves your device.

Data stored on your device

The app saves the following locally on your phone so it can work. This data is only accessible to the app and is never uploaded:

WhatWhy
Your habits and daily completion logsTo track your progress and streaks
Your prayer (salah) recordsFor the salah ring and prayer history
Favourited adhkārTo show your saved duas
Your settings (city, calculation method, madhab, Hijri adjustment, notification preference)To remember your preferences
Your last known coordinatesTo calculate prayer times, including in the background

Location

Wird requests location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) for one purpose only: to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are.

Notifications

Prayer reminders are scheduled and shown by your device itself. There are no push notifications, no messaging server, and no device tokens. Nothing about your notifications is sent anywhere. You can turn them off at any time in Settings.

Third parties

Wird contains no advertising, no analytics, and no crash reporting. It embeds no third‑party SDK that collects personal data. The app does not use the Android advertising ID — the AD_ID permission is explicitly removed from the app.

The app previously offered an optional paid upgrade. This has been removed — Wird is now entirely free, and the payment provider it used is no longer part of the app.

Internet access

The app declares the INTERNET permission because it is required by Android's background scheduling components (WorkManager), which keep prayer reminders reliable. The app does not send your personal data over the internet. Opening the privacy policy, sharing the app, or emailing feedback simply hands off to your browser, share sheet, or email app.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored only on your phone, you are in full control. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage via Android Settings → Apps → Wird → Storage → Clear data, permanently deletes everything. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
